Long time Oilers journalist Jim Matheson has tweeted out what he figures is the Oilers protected list. I wasn’t surprised by who was included/excluded but maybe you are.
Barring late curve, Edm protected list will be Draisaitl, Lucic, RNH, Eberle, Maroon, Kassian, Letestu, Larsson, Klefbom, Sekera, Talbot

That means that Vegas can pick from this list of players from the Oilers:
- FORWARD: Pouliot, Pakarinen, Khaira, Hendricks, Fontaine, Desharnais, Pochiro, Pitlick, Samuelsson
- DEFENSE: Fayne, Fraser, Gryba, Reinhart, Russell, Musil, Simpson, Oesterle,
- GOAL: Brossoit
So recently signed Jujhar Khaira, he must be outtie 5ooo then right? Between him, Reinhart, and Brossoit, they’re the most attractive players on the Oilers to Vegas unless they fancy themselves a bit of a fancy stats dynamo in Mark Fayne or Benoit Pouliot… But what if they dig a hard-working Finn with a hammer of a shot? Iiro the Hero might be that man.
Or has a deal been made….
