NHL Rumors and Speculation
- Jimmy Murphy (Boston Hockey Now): According to Murphy’s sources, Keith Yandle (FLA) would waive his no-trade and no-movement clause if he was being traded to the Boston Bruins.
- “If and when Panthers GM Bill Zito finally asks Yandle to waive his no-movement and no-trade clauses to facilitate a trade, he will waive them for the Boston Bruins.”
- Ryan Dixon (Sportsnet): Says the New York Rangers are preparing a massive offer for the Columbus Blue Jackets in order to obtain Pierre-Lu Dubois.
- “Dixon believes the trade would be centered around 2019 2nd overall pick Kaapo Kakko and Ryan Strome and a 2nd round pick in 2022. The Blue Jackets would like 21-year-old Filip Chytil to be added to the package.”
- Nick Kypreos: Via Twitter had this to say on the PLD rumors,
- “Pierre-Luc Dubois first destination choice is @CanadiensMTL. The @BlueJacketsNHL ask is now focused around Nick Suzuki / plus. Romanov has been deemed untouchable.”
- Brian Hedger (Columbus Dispatch): Has heard something different with regards to what Montreal could give up for PLD.
- “Heard Kotkaniemi/Mete and something else from asking around, but the only thing we know for sure is Dubois remains a Blue Jacket.”
- Frank Seravalli (TSN): Teams are questioning whether or not Florida Panthers star Alexander Barkov will re-sign with his club in two years time when his contract expires as new GM Bill Zito looks to rebuild the roster.
- “I’m told that a number of teams have made inquiries to GM Bill Zito over the last number of weeks to check out Barkov’s availability,”
- Anthony Scultore (Daily Goal Horn): Reports that four teams are currently interested in Barkov,
- “Teams rumored to be interested are the New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks, Anaheim Ducks, and L.A. Kings.
- Dan Rosen (NHL.com): Said in a recent mailbag post that the NJ Devils, who are in the market for former Detroit Red Wing, Jimmy Howard.
- “He is an experienced NHL goalie and could help Blackwood find his way as a No. 1, but he’s clearly not the goalie he once was.”
- Allan Mitchell (Lowetide.ca): Wonders if goalies like Adin Hill (ARI) and Dustin Tokarski (BUF) might be options for the Oilers now that Mike Smith is on LTIR.
