Edmonton Oilers Talk: The Man Who Saved the Oilers

Right off the bat here, I have to apologize. We’re having a bit of a crisis in the BLH household as our family cat has taken a turn for the worse healthwise. The preliminary prognosis from the family vet is that his liver is not doing well so we have to take him to a proper animal hospital now to see how dire things are. We had to let his brother go last year for something similar and so a lot of tough feelings are resurfacing and I can’t stop my face from leaking everywhere.

So, this morning’s post is a video presentation entitled, “The Man Who Saved the Oilers.” It’s a CBC production from years ago about how Cal Nichols pretty much saved the storied franchise back in the late 1990s.

I’d love to be able to dive right into this topic and give you my perspective since I was in my late teens at the time, but as things stand, my love is not so much with the Edmonton Oilers as it is our ailing family member. I’m sure you can understand.

If you have any good stories about the Oilers or what happened when they nearly moved to Houston, please leave them in the comments section below or even get in touch with me on Twitter or Instagram!

Enjoy!

I've been through the ups and downs and the highs and the Lowes, the Bonsignores and the McDavids, the Sathers and the Eakins but I'll never leave my Oilers, no matter what! They're with me until the end and then some. GO OILERS GO!
