Oilers Claim Pardy and Cracknell

Adam Pardy (D) and Adam Cracknell (RW/C) have been claimed off of waivers by the Oilers according to Bob MacKenzie.

Adam Pardy (6’4″ 227lb) is a left-handed physical bottom pairing defender who had been plying his trade with the Winnipeg Jets. Pardy has played only a handful of games to date (14) and I have to wonder aloud if he’ll get that many more with the Oilers but he could fill the Gryba role. This is the guy Chiarelli was referring to when he spoke of a player he was looking to test drive at his press conference previously.

Adam Cracknell (6’2″ 209lb) is big winger who’d been used sparingly with the Vancouver Canucks this year. Cracknell has five goals and five assists in 44 games this year.

These moves could preface some deals coming up perhaps including Nail Yakupov, Mark Fayne or Jordan Eberle. Lowetide reckons these moves were made due to the lack of performance from the players on the Oilers’ minor league team, the Bakersfield Condors.
